Sedalia woman arrested for drug-impaired driving after airborne crash


A woman and three miners, all from Sedalia, were injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2005 Dodge, driven by Jennifer L. Jones, 39, of Sedalia, was on TT Road at Lamm’s Ford Road (southeast of Sedalia) at approximately 11:30 a.m. , when the driver lost control. of the Dodge at high speed, left the roadway, crossed and left Lamm’s road, took off and came to rest on the roadway.

Jones suffered moderate injuries, as did his three passengers, two men aged 6 and 9 and a 5-year-old woman. Jones was transported by EMS to Columbia University Hospital, while the minors were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. According to the report, none were wearing seat belts or safety devices at the time of the crash.

The Dodge was totaled and towed off the scene by InMotion.

Jones was later arrested by patrol at 12:08 p.m. She was suspected of drunk driving, failure to maintain the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident, two counts of child seat violation, two counts of seat belt violation and not having a valid driver’s license. Jones was taken to Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.
