Luxurious, high-end gaming laptops have been on the minds of every tech this year. Aside from buying a prebuilt gaming PC, packaging a gaming laptop has been one of the only ways to get your hands on a current generation GPU in this time of dire silicon shortage. and subsequent GPU stock shortages. Frankly, this has been a PC builder’s worst nightmare.
In light of this calamity, laptops have become an essential salvation for us gamers. Especially since the escalation of this cautious work-from-home exodus, laptops are more and more in demand than ever before. And since we as computer hardware enthusiasts and avid gamers are pretty specific about what we need both at work and at home, we’re happy to say laptops are finally hitting the mark.
There’s still work to be done regarding battery life and the dilemma of portability versus power, but there are at least three gaming laptops this year – the one we’re naming here – which ticks almost all the boxes.
The Asus ROG Flow X13, along with its XG Mobile eGPU, has finally provided a viable workaround to one of the most infuriating hurdles around using an external GPU. The Razer Blade 14 brought the mighty Ryzen gaming to one of the most stylish and desirable laptops to date. And the Gigabyte Aorus 15G XC manages to balance the raw power of the RTX 3070 with a well-balanced, non-titanic and rather quiet chassis.
But who will take home the crown for the best gaming laptop of 2021?
