“I am very proud of the work Jimmy and Maria have done to highlight the impact Title IX has had not only on the Patriot League, but on society as a whole,” said Patriot League Commissioner Jennifer Heppel. “I appreciate the platform and the opportunity to tell these stories and thank everyone who has been and will be on this series.”

Johnson and Trivelpiece have worked closely with communications staff, coaches and senior administrators at Patriot League member institutions to identify and tell the powerful stories of the Title IX era and share thoughts on the importance of revolutionary legislation.

“I’m extremely proud of the work Maria and I have done so far on our ongoing series covering the 50th anniversary of Title IX,” Johnson said. “The conversations with our student-athletes, coaches and administrators for this series have been eye-opening for me, and to be recognized for our hard work on this project is truly humbling.”

“I’m so grateful to the Title IX pioneers who paved the way for me to work in the sport,” said Trivelpiece, a Fordham softball alumnus. “The circle is complete to win a prize that honors their fight and the path traveled”
