Every Epic Games Store PC game offers free

The armor-clad warrior from Loop Hero confronts a skeletal mage in the void.

In the modern gaming landscape, it’s pretty easy to get away with not paying for games. This is partly because the studios are making free ones that are really, really good. But it’s also because companies with deep pockets like Epic continues to give even the paid ones. This year’s annual holiday sale on the Epic Games Store is no exception with unlimited $ 10 coupons and 15 free games through the end of 2021.

The sale began on Thursday, December 16 with a gift for Shenmue III, the Kickstarter 2019 success story which was surprisingly decent and is normally $ 30. Today’s take is also incredibly remarkable: Loop hero. The deckbuilding roguelite came out earlier this year and quickly became a favorite of mine and many others, in part because of its satisfactory locking systems, and in part because it’s a scary, nihilistic story about trying to rebuild a world that has been overtaken by the void. Best of all, you can play it on just about any PC hardware that still has a boost.

Here’s the full list of free Epic Games Store games for the holidays, which we’ll update as more are revealed:

  • December 16 – Shenmue III
  • December 17 – Neon Abyss
  • December 18 – Remnant of the ashes
  • December 19 – Death of Ethan Carter
  • December 20 – Loop hero

The games are only available for 24 hours from the day they go live, so be sure to go claim them from your account even if you don’t plan to start playing right away.

Of course, this is a way to keep you flowing around the Epic Games Store homepage so that you actually buy stuff, and it’s pretty good considering the Fortnite-maker is also currently giving out unlimited $ 10 coupons for all games $ 15 and over.

I already have way too many games in my life, but if I needed more I could start with Atomicrops, Bonfire peaks, Axiom Verge 2, Sable, and Dark Deity, all of which qualify for the coupon, allowing you to claim the lot for around $ 30. I also hear Wonderful things on Unexplored 2: The traveller’s legacy, which is the ambitious sequel to one of the best games of 2017. Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to check it out yet. Like I said, too many games. We’ll see how long this excuse will last.
