Cheating has been a growing concern in BGMI lately, and despite the large number of bans every week, players continue to have their experience marred by players cheating in games. As perhaps the strongest response to cheating yet in BGMI, Krafton has now confirmed that cheaters will face device bans if caught cheating.
The application of this additional measure will be effective today, December 24, 2022. “If the use of illegal programs is detected with a mobile device by the new security logic applied,” said the opinion of Krafton. “The device will be permanently banned from using BGMI. Maybe this could be the perfect anti-cheat solution BGMI desperately needed to combat in-game cheating.

Krafton confirms device bans in BGMI
Krafton has been pretty active when it comes to taking action against in-game cheating, but so far it didn’t seem like it was making a big difference. Device bans, however, are a much more permanent solution than simply sanctioning accounts, but the threat of a device ban might just give players a break before they use third-party programs to cheat. .
“Until now, penalties have only been imposed on accounts, but now mobile devices will also be banned, which will make fair play much more effective,” Krafton says. It will be interesting to see how the playerbase reacts to this new metric as there is always the likelihood that there will be a lot of collateral damage with metrics as strong as these.
Collateral damage, in this case, means players can sometimes be wrongly accused of cheating. It is likely that Krafton will allow players to appeal their case and try to get their device on the ban list if they are wrongly accused of cheating.
